TownePlace Suites by Marriott Manchester

The room was clean and the bed was really comfortable, though a few things could use some TLC. Staff were super nice. The young man working nights was awesome 👌, and the older Swedish guy with glasses let us stay later on our last day, thanks for that. The one chair and the breakfast were the worst I’ve ever had at a hotel, and it was the only time we all stopped going. The women working breakfast were nice, though. Parking costs 5$ a day. Nobody told me, but I already knew about the charge. I stayed from November 26 to December 1. Dude from Iceland

The building looked much more worn and dirty than the online photos suggested. Housekeeping and maintenance seemed to be trying, mopping and cleaning, but it feels like the place itself is outdated. The carpets need replacing with modern flooring, and small room updates don’t make up for the overall condition. The strongest problem was the awful smell in the hallway from another guest’s room. It was overwhelming, like something had died, not just a mild pet odor. You had to pass through it as soon as you left the elevator, which made going to my room unpleasant. The hotel didn’t deal with it until the next day, despite how bad it was. I didn’t feel comfortable eating anything there while that smell was in the building. I was told I’d get a discount. They took $40 off, but then I saw parking and a $5 nightly room fee, even though I didn’t have a vehicle. It felt like those charges basically erased the discount. I wouldn’t stay again. I’d rather pay more for somewhere clean, updated, and comfortable.

Everything went smoothly from check-in through check-out, and the staff were consistently welcoming and quick to help. TownePlace Suites was clean, orderly, and comfortable, with cleanliness clearly a priority. I’d happily stay again and recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Tiffanie was wonderful and did her best to help with the situation she had to work with. We were there for my daughter’s graduation from SNHU, and had booked in advance. But the smell on the second floor was awful. Someone’s dog or cat seemed to be in the room right by the elevator, and even after they tried to cover it, the hallway still smelled of wet dog and urine. There were three of us, and we booked a “2 queen bed” room, but got a sofa that folded out onto a really hard plastic surface. It felt as hard as the floor. Tiffanie gave me extra blankets to try to soften it and said I could ask for more help, but I slept terribly. Halfway through the night I turned the “bed” back into a couch, which was just as hard. My other family had a two bedroom suite for the same price, with a real pullout mattress on the couch. I paid almost $700 for two nights and have stayed in cheap motels like Motel 6 and had a better experience. I expected more from Marriott. I’m very disappointed and dissatisfied, and this one stay means I won’t stay with Marriott again.
