The lobby had games and comfortable spots for the family to hang out, and the atmosphere was nice. The hotel is also just minutes from the mall, shops, and restaurants. “The Common Man” bar and restaurant is downstairs, and the food there was 10/10. There wasn’t much of a view, though. Our room was clean, warm, and had what we needed. Since we arrived from New York at 9am, getting an early check-in was a big relief. I wish there’d been a coffee maker and somewhere to put our clothes. One person at the counter was rude when I asked about extending our stay and told me to book online. The next day another staff member was kind and helpful, and I even joined Hilton rewards because of her. All in all, it was worth the price, you get what you pay for.

The one snag during our stay was the live music at the bar and restaurant. It was VERY loud and easy to hear in our sixth-floor room, so light sleepers might want earplugs. Otherwise, this was a great first stay at a Tru property. We were traveling from Vermont’s mountains back to Boston and stopped for one night. The room was clean and nice, and the hotel seems fairly new. I loved the lemon sugar hand soap and lotion. Breakfast had a great mix of hot and cold food, with staff keeping it stocked, and there was plenty of lobby seating. Diamond at the front desk was especially friendly and helpful. She suggested a few restaurants to the person checking in before us, and we tried one and were really pleased.

I didn’t get any pictures because I was so caught up in the moment and didn’t want to miss anything. It was a delicious stay, thank you for the Tru Hilton experience. The receptionist was welcoming and courteous, and made sure I knew about breakfast in the morning. The room was immaculate. I dropped my things and figured I’d lie down for five seconds, but the comfort of that KING bed and how tired I was from traveling turned into a royal sleep. I didn’t wake until 6am, just the rest I needed before a busy day. Breakfast was ordinary with a little extra, exactly what I needed to start the day. The same courtesy was there when I checked out as when I arrived. Come see for yourself, I dare you!

There were takeout containers left outside doors in the halls a lot, and one day my room was missed for room service. The heat was another hassle. In January, the cleaning crew would often switch it off, and when I arrived around midnight the room had dropped to 55F. I turned it on and showered, and by then the room had warmed up enough to go to bed. Then the heat kicked in and started squealing. I was too tired to deal with it that night, but staff fixed it the next day. None of it was a huge issue on its own, but the inconveniences add up, and I won’t return.

The restaurant downstairs was amazing, and we highly recommend it. That’s a separate business, though, and doesn’t change my review of the hotel. In the room, the climate controls were confusing and the shower temperature swung wildly. The towels had stains, and the squeeze style soap dispensers were weird and gross. There was no closet or drawers, just a few hooks and a tiny bar with hangers. Getting anything out of the staff felt like pulling teeth. And this is what the sink water looked like. I don’t recommend staying here.
