I could barely sleep because the room smelled like smoke, and nobody had told me it was a smoking room. There were also burn holes in the comforter. I didn’t know hotels or motels still allowed smoking in rooms.

My daughter and I came from Florida to visit my son and needed an inexpensive room on short notice. The staff were extremely friendly and made check-in easy. The room was basic, with a microwave, refrigerator, and TV, and the beds were very soft. I got a great night’s sleep. They call the breakfast grab and go, with muffins, pastries, and similar items. We’re seriously thinking of staying again on the way home.

The clerk at check-in was very nice, and the room itself was clean, but we found a cigarette lighter on top of the bedspread in a nonsmoking room. We were put right next to a situation that made us uneasy. A man was sitting in a chair in front of our door when we arrived. He was apparently staying in the next room with a woman and a young child, and moved his chair to their door. Throughout the night, cars kept pulling up, and the man would go out and come back inside. It looked like drug dealing to us. When we checked out, the clerk looked like he’d just woken up and couldn’t give us a receipt. Much later, our credit card bill showed a $100.52 charge, which wasn’t the price quoted at check-in. We had no idea what they’d charged until then. The motel was hard to find, even Google Maps got confused, and it wasn’t busy at all. We’d avoid this place.

The rooms stink, the towels were stained, and there was no coffee maker. Thank goodness I brought my own towels. The shower head was held on with tape and barely worked. They quoted $68 but charged $100 a night. This place is a nasty dump, and I definitely don’t recommend it.
