North Country Inn & Suites

The owner was really sweet, and the place was cute and clean. We got an upgrade since one was available, and the room turned out bigger than I expected. I’d stay there again when traveling that way.

The room was supposed to be a suite with a full kitchen, but all we had was a broken microwave and a mini fridge that never got cold enough, so our food spoiled. We also asked for a non-smoking room, but ours reeked of cigarettes and the comforters had burn marks. Really gross. The owner was rude and kept asking several times a day when we were leaving. We’d planned to check out after four days, then considered staying longer because of our housing situation. The repeated questions made me uncomfortable coming back to the room. When I took my dogs out, he’d be standing in the parking lot waiting. It felt creepy and weird.

There was trash, broken glass, and garbage all around the area, and we regretted not checking the room before booking. We held our breath during the stay and used bath towels to wipe filth off a couple surfaces so we could put our luggage down. The sink had no cold water because the valve was off. I turned it on, and black crud came out of the faucet. The proprietor was friendly enough, but the room next door was supposedly being cleaned with its door open and a candle burning inside.

We needed somewhere to sleep before continuing our road trip the next day, back in August, and the owner kindly booked us after 10 pm. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. He checked whether we needed anything before turning in, and checked on us again before we left. We slept well all night. Amazing hospitality! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
