Comfort Suites Manhattan

I wish I could give zero stars. My 8-year-old autistic son, my mother, and my other son went to look at the facility. We usually book a room in winter so my son can swim somewhere, and thought we'd try a new hotel. The person working there was incredibly rude and kicked us out because my autistic son knocked a piece of paper onto the floor. I don't know if race was a factor or if this person is just incredibly rude to any child. I'd honestly suggest staying anywhere else.

The breakfast was a mess. The coffee machine was broken, and the note looked like it had been there a while. If it can't be fixed, they need to find another way to serve coffee. The eggs other than the scrambled ones were cold, like they'd just come out of the freezer. I saw someone spray the waffle maker, but the waffle stuck all over it and came out in pieces. The sausage was warm and good, while the eggs were awful even though they were in the same silver buffet server. The bread closure was broken; I don't mind that sort of thing, but the bread seemed to have been left out all day and night and was very stale. The orange juice tasted strange too. I don't expect a big breakfast, just warm food and working equipment. The chairs also need replacing. Their backs are grimy from what looks like hundreds of dirty hands. I've stayed here many times, though not for a few years. The staff were accommodating and called early to let us know we could check in early, which was a big help.

We felt ripped off and expected a better stay here. The room was just okay, nothing special. The king bed was comfortable, but the AC and heater beside it were loud enough to wake me several times. We arrived right at the scheduled 6:30 opening for continental breakfast so we could leave before bad weather came in. The eggs, biscuits, and sausage links weren't even warm. The waffle maker was available, but my waffle came out tough, and the coffee was only lukewarm. The water and ice machine didn't work at all.

The pool is supposed to be heated, but it was so cold. Card readers kept deactivating the card every other use, and breakfast had very few choices. The breakfast area looked as though it hadn't been swept or mopped for days. We've stayed at this motel for years, so I was extremely disappointed by this visit. The rooms weren't as clean as they usually are, and several people on our team had the same complaint. Sad to see such a nice hotel go downhill in just a few months.
