Baymont by Wyndham Manteca

We came back to our room after being out and found a housekeeper inside. When we checked our things, my debit card was missing, the cash from my bag was gone, and some other valuables had disappeared. That left us feeling unsafe and deeply uncomfortable. A hotel room should feel private and secure, and guests shouldn't have to worry about their belongings being taken. The whole situation caused a lot of stress and frustration, and it broke the trust we had placed in the hotel.

Breakfast was basic, but the waffles, cereal, and coffee were enough to get the day going. Baymont by Wyndham Manteca is also handy for the freeway, with plenty of restaurants and stores nearby. I booked at the last minute and wasn't sure what to expect, then check-in was quick and easy. The room turned out clean, comfortable, and roomier than I'd expected, with a cozy bed, mini-fridge, and microwave. The Wi-Fi and AC both worked fine. Staff were genuinely helpful and made sure we had what we needed. It was a quiet, comfortable stay for a good price, and I'd book here again.

We were only away from the room briefly, but a housekeeper was inside when we got back, without having told us. Then I found my debit card missing, along with all the cash from my bag and some expensive belongings. It was the worst hotel stay I've had. We felt violated, and this was seriously unsafe and unprofessional. I would never stay here again.

The room was okay, though mostly bare walls with no real style or decor. The desk person was nice, but the rate was nearly twice what I saw online, and they also took a $100 deposit. When I objected, there was no apology or acknowledgment that this was unacceptable, just “Company policy.” Those policies made me want to tell people to go somewhere else. I should have walked out myself.
