Hilton Garden Inn Atlanta NW/Kennesaw Town Center

I was impressed by the receptionist’s kindness when I first arrived, and allowing me to wash one work shirt would have earned a five-star review on its own. I was staying across the road on a work trip, and that hotel’s washer and dryer weren’t available. I asked ahead if I could use yours just for the shirt I’d packed short. I didn’t have enough change, so I went back to my room to get some, bringing my things with me in case I needed it. On my way out, I heard a woman I assumed was the manager speaking rudely to the receptionist. She then asked me sharply what I was doing and whether I was finished with the laundry. I wasn’t done, but I had my things with me. Her attitude and stunned look made me feel unwelcome and like I shouldn’t return. I understand there may be a policy about non-guests using facilities like washers, dryers, or pools, but I believe basic decency should come first. It hurt to see the receptionist’s kindness dismissed so quickly.

My friend was charged twice at check-in, then a third time on the second day. There’s no continental breakfast, and the on-site breakfast didn’t seem worth $18 a plate. Guests also pay daily for parking, and some staff were rude. The pool in the online photos is misleadingly large looking; it’s maybe 15 feet long and badly needs servicing. I wouldn’t recommend staying here, and I won’t be back. There are better nearby places with free breakfast and parking and nicer pools.

We’ve stayed here several times and have had good visits each time. The rooms are clean, nicely equipped, and stylish, and we find the location convenient, with nearby food options and shopping. Atlanta is close enough, but far enough away that you’re not in the city itself. The staff give you space rather than hovering or making you feel watched. You do have to ask when you need help, but then the service is great. I recommend it for a good trip to the area.

I booked because I’m a Hilton Honors member and the property advertised an EV charger. Several days beforehand, I called to confirm it was Level 2 and free, and was told it was a Tesla charger. On arrival I found a paid Blink charger that ran at only 12 mph, half the speed of an L2, and the rate was about three times what a Tesla charger costs. I was very unhappy. The overnight charge wouldn’t have given me even a third of what I needed to get home, so I had to use a Tesla Supercharger. Staff wouldn’t do anything to help. Breakfast was expensive too, while the neighboring Spark by Hilton offered it free. The charging situation was a serious screw-up, and they made zero effort to make this right or keep a Hilton Honors member happy. I won’t return, and that’s why this is a two-star review.
