Breakfast was delicious, though they shut it down 15 minutes before the time we’d been told. By the time I went for coffee, it was already over, which was disappointing. Service was okay, nothing special but not bad. We stayed one night and walked the one mile to Venice beach in the morning. The rooms had the essentials but felt a little dated. The hotel is right on the marina, with perfect sunrise views. If we’d stayed longer, we would have tried paddle boarding or biking around.

I was here for 35 days while my apartment was being renovated. The facility is clean and well kept, the breakfast was convenient and above average, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Veronica Hill in sales was especially patient while I sorted through the hotel charges. Brizos has a great Happy Hour! Highly recommend.

The problem wasn’t simply the room type. It was how I was treated. I can’t recommend Residence Inn Marina del Rey, and I’ll be telling colleagues and peers to avoid it. I travel for business, and service and relationships matter. This stay left me feeling that guest well-being and loyalty aren’t priorities here. I’m a frequent business traveler and loyal Marriott Rewards member who has relied on the brand for consistency and hospitality. I booked a specific room type three weeks ahead. When I arrived late because of business travel, the front desk said the hotel was “100% booked” and my room was no longer available. My reservation was active, confirmed, and not canceled. Staff implied my late arrival had caused the problem, which was both illogical and insulting. Blaming me for what seemed to be Marriott’s internal overbooking or room management issue was unacceptable. The front desk staff were dismissive and sometimes outright rude, with none of the hospitality I’d expect from Marriott. They spoke to me across a hallway instead of coming over to engage respectfully. When I tried to escalate the problem, they brushed me off with “talk to your company,” without trying to resolve it or even acknowledge the issue. The hotel shares a common space with the Courtyard by Marriott, which may be contributing to confusion and a lack of accountability. I’d seen mixed reviews before booking, but gave it a chance because of past good experiences with Marriott. That trust was misplaced. I would have moved elsewhere if options in the area hadn’t been limited. The nearby Westin was far more welcoming and respectful, and my stay at Courtyard by Marriott Culver City was also delightful. Both were a drastic contrast with Residence Inn.

Ashley, the front desk supervisor at the Marriott Residence Inn & Courtyard in Marina del Rey, made my stay memorable. She remembered my name, offered thoughtful local recommendations, and checked in to make sure everything was going well. From arrival on, she was warm, professional, and attentive, and made me feel welcome and cared for. Even when things were busy, Ashley stayed calm and handled everything with grace and a smile. You can tell she takes pride in her work, and things run smoothly when she’s there. Her hospitality really stands out. Anyone staying at either the Residence Inn or the Courtyard in Marina del Rey is in great hands with Ashley. She’s a real asset to Marriott, and I’m grateful for the experience.

I’ve been at Residence Inn by Marriott Marina del Rey for nine weeks, and this has been the worst experience. My truck was scratched on the bumper and wheel. The manager said valet was a third party and not their responsibility. I filed a report with the valet manager, who said they’d check their 5,000 cameras and get back to me. Three weeks later, they denied my claim. I’m handicapped and still paying for valet, which uses questionable parking lots to make money. My wife and I came back to our room to find the door open and many expensive things missing: her new LV purse, a gold charm bracelet, another bracelet, diamond earrings, a diamond necklace, other items, and a Nintendo Switch. I paid more for this place for its location and for peace of mind about my vehicle and belongings, especially in LA. I travel around the world and have never had anything like this happen. Management treated me poorly and denied accountability, even though there’s proof housekeeping opened the room at 3:05 p.m. and left it open until I came back. Did housekeeping take my things? I can’t say. What I know is that I left at 4:19 a.m. with the door closed, and housekeeping later opened it and left it open. My belongings were gone when I returned. The log shows when I left and when housekeeping came in and left the room open all day and evening. Management keeps promising to call the next day, but nothing happens. Employees themselves have come to me with information because they’re tired of what goes on here and the lack of action. How often is this happening without anything being done? After our belongings were stolen, I provided proof and my wife and I experienced humiliation, mistreatment, and racist comments from Jackie Chavez (Supervisor), Ariana Puraci (AGM), (GM)Mark Murphy, and Jeff. Then we were evicted just for asking for an update about our missing things. We’re traumatized, knowing someone could enter our room while we sleep and that our hard-earned belongings might be stolen when we leave.
