Homewood Suites by Hilton Philadelphia-City Avenue

Wednesday social nights are such a nice way to meet other guests. Chantta is kind and always ready to help, and the food is fresh and tasty. Everyone working here is awesome. I almost wanted to keep the place to myself, but they deserve the kudos.

After an apartment fire, our insurance put us here for over a month, right through the holidays. We were struggling and feeling depressed, but the staff's warmth made a horrible stretch much easier. They took the time to remember us, greeted us warmly whenever we crossed paths, and helped whenever we needed something. I hope I'd be able to stay here again if I ever needed a place. I may have missed someone, but thank you to Kayla (my fellow swiftie!), Marquisha, Musa, TJ and India at the front desk, Nadiva, Dee, Bruce and George, and Lucia, our housekeeper. Channta's bright smile each morning was lovely too. They brought us so much kindness, whether they knew how much it meant or not.

Our studio suite was spacious and clean, with a comfortable king bed and a nice walk-in shower. We picked this hotel for its mini-suite kitchen, free breakfast and closeness to the funeral we were attending during our two-night visit. We had a good stay overall, and the front desk and customer service team were all friendly and pleasant. Thanks to the bartender for suggesting the red wine. The rosé by "Josh" was a great choice, and I bought a bottle at the supermarket on my way home. The wing dings were good too, especially with sweet chili sauce.

Penn Presbyterian hospital recommended this hotel while my husband was having heart surgery. He had a stroke the day after the operation. The hotel charged his card $260 for an extra night, then charged me $400 to retrieve my things because the room was in his name and mine wasn't listed. The staff and manager were rude. Given what had happened, they should have been more understanding and helpful. Don't assume you'll be treated any better, at any time. 😭
