Best Western Plus Executive Residency Marion

The staff were great during my stop on the way down to Texas, but the room was a mess. The shower drained poorly, and nasty stuff came back up through the odd drain. There was mold in the shower, peeling and gross caulk around the bathroom sink, footprints on the tile, and a door with so much grime it looked like it hadn't been wiped down. I also found an opened water bottle in the fridge. Breakfast could've been better too. I contacted both the location and corporate before posting to give them a chance to fix things, but they blew me off.

There was plenty of parking, and the workout room was clean and had water and towels. My room was clean, smelled good, and was laid out well. Breakfast was tasty, with plenty available and all the machines and supplies stocked. The desk clerk gave me a cheerful welcome at late check-in, and everyone I dealt with during the stay was enthusiastic, helpful, and pleasant. A great hotel experience, I recommend it.

Breakfast was amazing. I made a sausage, egg, cheese, and salsa sandwich, and the mini waffles were fabulous. The bed was comfortable, the water pressure was great, and the friendly staff made our first points stay easy, with the smoothest check-in ever. Housekeeping fell short, though. The mini fridge was dirty, and there were Doritos and crumbs on the floor by the chair. I've worked in custodial for 16 years and expect a higher standard for customers. Even so, everything else was great and we'd definitely stay again.

I'm a platinum member, but they wouldn't give me a room because my ID had a local address. I don't live locally anymore and was in town for business. The desk employee was condescending and didn't try to help. Since I took a while to find paperwork showing my new address, she put my ID and credit card on the counter instead of handing them back, and didn't apologize. I went to a competitor across the street, explained what happened, and they gave me a room.
