Holiday Inn Express & Suites Marion by IHG

The property was well kept, the room spotless, and the staff exemplary. What made the biggest difference for me was the comfortable bed setup: great mattress, pillows, and linens that gave me a peaceful night’s sleep away from home. I wasn’t expecting such a restful stay. Thank you!

I spent seven months here while working on hurricane Helene disaster cleanup, and the staff and location were fantastic. Sarrah, the manager, was a ray of sunshine and was always more than willing to help or accommodate whatever I needed. The front desk team made me feel welcome, and since I mostly worked from my room, they went out of their way every day to help me have a good day. Housekeeping did a very good job, and the kitchen staff were friendly and kept the breakfast area incredibly neat. I can’t thank everyone enough for their kindness and professionalism. I felt like part of the family and highly recommend this location if you’re in the area.

The rooms were spacious and clean, with plenty of pillow choices, and the front desk ladies were sweet and kept in touch by text. The facilities felt safe, were clean, updated, and well lit, and the mini store was nicely stocked. The location is a little away from the main highway, which I liked. The walls are SUPER thin, though. We could hear people showering, blow-drying their hair, and discussing breakfast, travel plans, and grooming as if they were right beside our bed, even though they were on the other side of an adjoining door and weren’t with us. The cafe was packed when we came in. The service ladies said it’s like that every weekend, so food runs out quickly and some guests don’t use their manners. Those women were working hard to keep the area clean and stocked. We might stay again if the price is right, but I’d ask for an end room and check whether a large group is booked first.

The coffee was good and the front desk staff were pleasant enough, but the breakfast was barely edible. Our room smelled like feet and Doritos, so we had to call downstairs for air freshener. The beds were hard and the pillows gave little support. We woke up aching and unrested. For the price, it absolutely wasn’t worth it, and I’d look elsewhere.
