Comfort Suites Marquette

We take weekend trips pretty often, and it was nice to finally feel we got our money’s worth. The room itself made the stay worthwhile, and the customer service was excellent. Breakfast had real food and good choices, too. We love the U.P. and Michigan always feels like home. Go Lions!

We paid one of the lowest room rates in town, and the hotel was packed with families there for several Marquette sporting events. Even with a crowded breakfast area, the staff kept the food and fresh coffee coming and stayed on top of the cleanup. The breakfast was one of the best I’ve had at a hotel, and the food was excellent. There’s also a Hudson’s dinner on the property for lunch and dinner. The place was clean and well cared for, but the staff stood out most. They were the friendliest, most polite, respectful, and helpful team of the half dozen or so places I’ve stayed in 2025. I highly recommend it and will be back.

After bad weather and unexpected flight delays left me stranded at DTW, I called Choice Customer Service. The representative was callous, uncaring, and unwilling to help with my prepaid reservation. I tried the hotel directly and spoke with the night auditor, who kindly moved it to the following day and suggested I talk with the manager in the morning. The front desk told me Beth, the hotel manager, was happy to refund the reservation. Given the terms of my booking, she had no obligation to do that, but she refunded it anyway. That says a lot about her integrity and the property’s. If I travel to Marquette or nearby again, I’ll definitely stay here. Thank you for your kindness!

My wife uses a wheelchair, and the king accessible room made the stay a struggle. There were too many obstacles to get around, and the bed was too high for her to get into. She had to sleep on the narrow hide-a-bed, then fold it back up whenever she needed to get back into her chair to use the bathroom. There was only 5-6 inches between the bed and heater, so reaching the bed from that side was impossible. In my view, the room doesn’t meet ADA standards and shouldn’t be advertised as accessible. We stayed twice at the Comfort Inn and Suites in Grand Rapids MI last year, and both times there was plenty of wheelchair space. We’ll find somewhere else next time and won’t stay here again. It was very disappointing, far too much of a struggle, and we were very unhappy with the stay. I don’t usually write reviews, but I felt strongly that I had to say something.
