Comfort Inn Cranberry Township

The location worked out really well for seeing the places we wanted to visit, and nights were still quiet and peaceful. The team members were helpful with recommendations, and everyone we met was attentive and welcoming. Our room was spotless, the bed was comfortable, and the amenities were great. We had a relaxing stay and I’d recommend it for a budget-friendly getaway.

The room wasn’t clean when we checked in and smelled like urine and mold. There was also a huge gap around the door, so smoke and cold air came straight in. The billing was also a serious problem. I told them at check-in that we had four service dogs. The woman asked for a registration card; I said I didn’t have one, and she said okay and authorized my card for $627. Today, another charge for $997 came through. My bank says there were six unauthorized charges in total, despite the picture showing proof of one charge. When I asked about it by phone, I was told it was because I had more than one dog. At the front desk I was told they were charging for the dogs. I explained they weren’t pets, but service dogs trained to do specific tasks for me and my children and protected under the Americans with Disabilities Act. She replied that we had too many and they had to charge us. I believe this is illegal, and I’ve contacted an attorney and shared what happened. We’re meeting this week to discuss what to do next. The woman also blocked the door and cornered my son as he came out of the room, asking what kind of service dog he had and how big it was. He tried to get past her and was extremely uncomfortable. I don’t recommend a hotel that breaks the law.

The front desk staff spoke clear English, which was nice for a change. The rooms, though, really need attention. The floors were dirty, the sheets were stained, and I even found a used tissue on the floor. Housekeeping could use some training.

The staff were friendly and helpful while I was there, and the room was quiet, clean, and comfortable. Breakfast was included and had some good choices to start the morning. I had a pleasant stay and would come back.
