Comfort Inn Marshall

I can’t prove a connection, but the week after my stay, someone used my debit card through PayPal to buy two car engines on eBay. I’d also used PayPal to pay for my room. The fraud was almost $2000.00 and happened two days after I checked out. It was a mess dealing with PayPal, eBay, and my bank, though my bank was wonderful. I had to catch my breath when I found out. It feels like too much of a coincidence. My son lives in Marshall, so I visit often. This was my first stay at this hotel in Marshall MN, and it’ll be my last.

A young man named Nash runs the front desk and is pleasant and very skilled. Quality Inn is a clean, cozy budget hotel with a nice indoor pool. It’s conveniently located just off highway 23, close to restaurants and shopping. Breakfast and free Wifi are included in the room price.

Andy was patient and knew how to sort out our 2-hour booking mishap. His outstanding customer service really stood out, making him one of the best front desk representatives I’ve encountered in a long time.

I wouldn’t recommend ever staying here. The hotel is run down and needs serious improvements. My room was adequate in size, which was the only good thing I can say about it. All weekend it felt damp and wet, and nothing I tried made that go away. The bedding, my clothes, and even work paperwork I brought were soggy. Wallpaper beside the air conditioning unit looked like someone had taped it back with clear packing tape. In the bathroom, wallpaper was peeling and the wall by the shower clearly had water damage. The free breakfast was poor, with all the food cold, stale bagels, and little variety. At checkout I tried to switch the card I’d used for the reservation, but was told it couldn’t be changed because the manager wasn’t available. Are you kidding me? I travel for work a lot and have never had this problem. I always change my card when I check out in the morning. This hotel chain is on our preferred work list, but after this visit we may need to reconsider.
