Comfort Inn Marshalltown South

As a truck driver, I got stuck on the highway after road closures turned what Priceline listed as two miles from my location into a 90-minute trip. They refused to refund me so I could get a hotel that was actually close, and I spent the night in my truck in minus 12-degree weather. Priceline emailed me saying the reservation was canceled, but it wasn’t. Their customer service was terrible. I’ve learned that many Priceline hotels have issues like this, since they’re all owned by foreigners, including Priceline. The bedbugs and roaches here are also unacceptable, unless you’re okay with that. Zero out of ten, and after seeing the previous reviews I’d never stay here.

The staff at Comfort Inn Marshalltown South were friendly and accommodating, and the quiet atmosphere made for an easy stay. The rooms were clean and spacious, with modern amenities. Free Wi-Fi and complimentary breakfast were included, making it a convenient, comfortable choice for business or leisure travel.

I’ve stayed here a few times while visiting family, and the employees have always been friendly and helpful. It’s an older place that could use updating, but it’s clean and well maintained. My room had just one privacy curtain, and it didn’t cover the whole window. I was on the second floor, so it wasn’t a huge issue, and that’s the only fix I’d suggest. I’d still recommend it for the clean room, comfortable bed, tons of TV channels, good town location, and breakfast.

The shower had no water pressure, the air conditioning didn’t work, and nobody was available to fix it. Breakfast was lackluster at best. I wouldn’t stay there again.
