Park Motel

The beds felt great, and the place was quiet, clean, and free of bad smells. A great option if you need somewhere to stay in Marshfield.

The staff are always polite and so nice, and the rooms are clean. We enjoy staying at Park Motel. The beds are old but still comfortable, though they sit so close to the walls that getting out on that side is difficult.

It worked for what we needed: the room was clean and quiet enough, and the internet was good enough for streaming. You can hear Central Ave when motorcycles are going by. This is a roadside motel on a main road, so expectations matter. It isn’t a high-end hotel with lots of amenities. The owner could be more outgoing and welcoming, though that may be a cultural difference. All in all, good enough for us.

It looks nice from outside, but that’s misleading. My husband stayed here 25 years ago, and the place has only gone downhill since then, with nothing updated. Hotels eventually need to replace things like the carpets, bedspreads, beds, and appliances, but that hasn’t happened at Park Hotel. The carpet and furniture felt sticky, the bed was questionable, and the chair was so slimy I covered it with my own blankets. The room smelled, the sink wouldn’t drain, and the only working outlet was behind the microwave and fridge, leaving their blow dryer useless. The AC had been moved into the tiny 2-by-2 bathroom and sink area, and had to keep running to make the room remotely livable at around 80 degrees. There was no coffee in the room, and the view out back was weeds and junk. Very unappealing. I won’t be back.
