Super 8 by Wyndham Marston

I miss the old Hunters Lodge. On weekends I'd go there often, and could step outside for a smoke, grab something from my car, or head to the vending machine without getting dressed and making the trip down stairs and along the hall. Those were some of the most relaxing times I'd had in ages. I could open the blinds and crack the window without worrying that someone would see me lying naked on the bed and report me just for relaxing. I hate that things are the way they are in today's world.

A few things are a little flawed, as you'd expect with an old hotel, but the owners have done a good job maintaining it. The room was clean and updated. Breakfast was minimal, but adequate, and it was a quiet, inexpensive place to rest after a long day's drive.

The Wi-Fi stayed strong and steady, and breakfast was surprisingly good, especially the sausage gravy with the biscuits. Everything was clean and tidy, with a few scuffs and minor bits of damage but nothing concerning. Both staff members I spoke with were friendly and helpful. Donna, who checked me in on the evening shift, was especially kind :)

The hallways are extremely warm, never vacuumed or cleaned, and have had a musty smell for years. We were told there weren't any more towels and we'd have to wait until 1:30 am to shower. After going back and forth for a bit, towels somehow turned up and were brought to us. The shower barely had any water pressure, and the water was cold.
