Hilton St. Louis Airport

Delta put me here after my flight was canceled. My first room was 82 degrees and the AC didn't work. When I called, I got a snippy response, though they did give me another room. That one was 76 degrees with equally poor AC and large stains on the floor. After the trouble of rearranging my flight, this was the last straw. At least the hotel bar has plenty of choices. If you can avoid staying here, do. Pay a little more for a room that works. The bathroom sink barely worked, and the right handle spun all the way around. If they missed something that obvious, what else are they skipping? Yuck. Later, I found a bug in the bathroom.

The receptionist was short and rude when we checked in around 8:45 p.m., even though it was late. She went through the room, hotel, and parking details like a script. A friendlier person with some personality would be better at the front desk. The bed was decent, but the shower wasn't great. The showerhead and tub spout were loose, water sprayed onto the floor, probably because of the connection, and the pressure was way too high. Hot water had two settings, slightly above warm or scalding. The small in-room coffee was weak and flavorless. They should offer a free continental breakfast or at least coffee downstairs. The AC was preset and couldn't be adjusted. The room was warm when we arrived, cooled down at night, then got too cold.

The rooms were okay, but the food was fantastic, good enough that I'd bring my wife here. With the atmosphere, facilities, and nice staff, I'd put this on the must-stay list if you're looking near the airport.

The bar was decent and the heat worked well, but the place felt like a dump. They charged for parking and still had no spaces available. The hallways smelled musty, the rooms were dated, and the bathroom was falling apart. Housekeeping was banging on my door at 8 a.m.
