La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Marysville

The front desk staff were so kind and thoughtful, and operations manager Lindsay gave us amazing customer service. We don’t usually gush unless it’s deserved, and these ladies really care. I’m sorry I didn’t get the names of the two women at the desk. Thank you, ladies! We’d never stayed at a La Quinta before. Our usual hotel was booked for Valentine’s weekend, so we made a spontaneous trip and ended up here. The property and rooms were clean, and the simple breakfast was a nice touch. If we need a place in this area again, we’d choose this one as long as the same team is still here.

During the recent floods, I was evacuated along with many other people in Skagit County. I worried we wouldn’t find a hotel that would take our cat and dog, but the staff at the La Quinta in Marysville welcomed us. The rooms were spacious and reasonably priced, and the pet deposit was just $25 per pet. It wasn’t fancy, which was fine by me. I wanted comfort at a fair price, and the hotel delivered. It was clean, the fridge actually got cold, and we had a microwave. The continental breakfast had a better selection than other hotels in the same price range, though I do like my coffee stronger. The hot shower had better pressure than any hotel I’ve stayed at for twice the price. The people working there were friendly and helpful.

WINCO across the street is open 24 hours, and there are lots of other nearby places too, including ROSS, DOLLAR TREE, SONIC, and ARBY’S. I’d definitely recommend staying here and will be back. I enjoyed the stay enough that I actually ate the hotel breakfast, which is a big deal for me since hotel breakfasts have upset my stomach and I hadn’t had one in 10 YEARS. This food smelled so good I couldn’t resist, haha. The service was great, and my room was clean and really comfortable. Breakfast was great too.

The walls were so thin we could hear the neighbors as if they were in our room. If not for that, we’d come back. The rooms were very clean, the beds comfortable, and all the staff were kind and polite. Breakfast was the usual hotel spread, but the biscuits and gravy made it much better.
