Holiday Inn Express & Suites Cincinnati - Mason by IHG

We were in town for our daughter's soccer tournament, and the room had mold, as the pictures show. Tami Bell, the General Manager, was nowhere to be found. The other employee said they didn't have the authority to help. We were told there were no other rooms, and the only offer was a credit to come back and stay again. Why would we return to a mold-infested hotel? Mold was coming through a wall outlet, which makes me worry the whole wall is saturated. This place should be shut down. There are so many red flags, and I'm concerned rooms aren't being cleaned. I can't imagine someone assigned to clean a room would simply ignore mold like that. The owners don't seem to reinvest in the hotel, care about guest health and safety, or give employees the power to help when there's a problem. They should be ashamed of putting profit ahead of guests' health and safety.

The lobby was dirty every time I came through, whatever the hour, and the rooms and service were terrible. I smelled mold as soon as I entered my room. A shower showed me where it was coming from: black mold covered the ceiling. When I raised it with the front desk, they said there was nothing they could do. The location is great, but stay somewhere else.

The location worked well, close to the expressway and lots of restaurants. There was no noise that got in the way of sleeping, and although updates and other work were still going on, that wasn't a problem. Staff were cordial, professional, and very nice. Breakfast in the morning had few choices, but it was tasty. I'd stay again.

I was comfortable coming back since I'd stayed here for a wedding before. The only room available this time was a handicap room, which seemed fine at first, but the shower had a couple of problems. The shower head wouldn't stay in its holder, and they didn't seem compatible. The floor outside the shower got soaked, possibly because of that, and we needed a lot more towels. Room #334.
