Baymont by Wyndham Maumee Toledo

We just needed somewhere to sleep and rest before heading back home, and this hotel worked perfectly. Breakfast was great, with cereal, yogurt, juice, and hot options like eggs, sausage, hash browns, plus a waffle maker to make your own waffle. Al was amazing when we checked in. We booked through Priceline and didn't know about the $80 deposit, but he stepped in and lowered it to $40. His customer service was second to none. He deserves a raise, and I highly recommend the hotel.

Housekeeping never cleaned our room on the second day, even though we asked for a full cleaning. When we followed up, staff said there were only two housekeepers and that a high number of check-outs the day before had caused delays. The room also wasn't stocked with shampoo or conditioner. We were told those wouldn't be delivered and that we had to collect them from the front desk. The bed was made neatly, but the bed skirt had a visible stain. We also saw bugs near the windows, and there were cracks in the molding and flooring. Between the property's poor condition, inadequate housekeeping, and lack of basic guest service, the stay was very unsatisfactory. It's far below what I'd expect from Best Western, and I can't recommend this Maumee location. Management needs to address these problems.

I reserved a king bed and got two doubles instead. At check-in they also demanded a $100 security deposit, which nobody had mentioned when I booked. I don't feel safe or comfortable here, but I'm too tired to find another place. The beds are uncomfortably soft, and the TV is impossible to figure out for both me and the front desk clerk. The entrance is hard to find because there's no name on the building, and the door took an employee three tries to open. The front desk hasn't been helpful or fixed anything. Everything has been disappointing. I just checked in and already want to check out, and I'll never stay at any Best Western again.

The pool was very nice, with saltwater and a comfortably warm temperature. The location was good too. There isn't a hot tub, despite what some pictures show. The rooms weren't very clean: the sheets and linens were clean, but there was trash on the floor and under the beds, along with stains on the light switches and walls. The building needs a lot of repairs. Breakfast was absolutely horrible. The cold items were okay, but the eggs, sausage, and potatoes were inedible, like they'd been reheated over and over. I wouldn't stay here again.
