Holiday Inn Express & Suites Maumelle - Little Rock NW by IHG

That shower was one of the best I've had for water pressure, and the pull-out couch mattress was surprisingly decent for that type of bed. The location and service were great, the accommodations comfortable, and breakfast pretty decent. My mom thought the pool was too cold, and a spider sent her running out of the water, lol. We were VERY pleased!

Breakfast had egg-white omelettes, turkey sausage, and several Greek yogurt options. The hot food was warmed up from the food service truck, sure, but at least it wasn't just a waffle with corn syrup, waxy apples, and bruised green bananas. The coffee was excellent from a Costa machine that grinds it fresh, and they had real half-and-half instead of those prepackaged synthetic creamers. An employee greeted me at breakfast and actually looked happy. We had to stop during a road trip with our four kids, and there was room for all six of us, two queens and a sofa bed. The bedding was clean, the blankets weren't thin, and the beds were comfortable for a hotel. The bathroom was clean, though the shower head was small. I liked that the AC fan could run all night for steady white noise to keep the kids asleep. Some parts of the hotel were worn, as you'd expect in a busy place, and the elevator smelled like someone had smoked marijuana. Still, my car wasn't stolen and nobody made us feel unwelcome. Five stars in today's hotel world.

The service was great, but our room wasn't cleaned very well. The shower floor was BROWN, and there was a nose strip on one shelf, which made everything else feel gross. That's why I bring my own cleaning supplies to hotels! We didn't have breakfast, so I can't say what it was like. All in all, a fine stay.

A great room, but HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT! I've stayed here almost 20+ nights in the last two months. A few nights ago, we arrived close to 3 AM, and a kind employee changed our stay to roll over so we could get a full night's rest. At 10:30 AM the manager called our room, woke us up, and said we had to check out because the employee wasn't supposed to do that and we'd originally booked for the night before. I went down to ask why. What manager makes a customer leave because THEIR employee made a “mistake,” or was just being generous? They could have addressed it with the worker and let us stay, or at least reimbursed us or given points. We're rewards members. I called IHG REWARDS and was told the hotel couldn't compensate us for its mistake, only apologize. So I got four hours of sleep and an apology? I'm disappointed.
