Hampton Inn Maysville

The location is still nice, with friendly staff, larger rooms, and rooms that seem relatively clean. I’ve been coming for five years because I have family nearby and my daughter went to UK, but I’ve noticed things slipping. Breakfast gets worse each time. Maybe I’ve been unlucky, but there’s always smoked sausage and some kind of inedible egg omelet option. I’m convinced smoked sausage is the cheapest protein available. The treadmill hasn’t been fixed in three years. That may not matter to everyone, but I rely on it for my workout routine. Luckily, there’s a big parking lot where I can run. They just need to pay attention to a few minor things.

We’ve stayed here twice now and love it. Tina at the front desk is so friendly and helpful, and the rooms are always clean. The staff are friendly every time.

The staff were great, and the location is good, close to shops and food. The hotel itself was fine and about what I expected for the area. Our room, 220, was disappointing, though. After the first day, my husband and I found a lot of black and gray mold on the bathroom ceiling. We were pretty grossed out, but had only one night left and an early departure, so we stayed. We weren’t in the room much except to sleep, and didn’t think there were better options nearby. I woke up congested, then felt fine after being out of the room during the day and after we left. The pool was slightly heated, but the windows were open whenever we went down, with snow outside and temperatures below 30 degrees. It was cold for a heated winter pool, and surprising to find the windows open. The pool area was okay, with huge uncovered windows facing the main parking lot. Breakfast was what you’d expect at a hotel, and waffles were the best part. We won’t return to this location because of the mold, but thanks to the staff for their smiling faces during a holiday trip that wasn’t easy for us.
