We spent the past weekend at Moon River B&B while visiting Maysville for a family event, and it was so much nicer than staying in a hotel. The suite was spacious and comfortable, with room for us to spread out and host family for coffee before the events. We also got to meet and talk with Denny, who was a great host. The common areas are relaxing, and breakfast hit the spot. Thanks so much, Denny, for your hospitality!

At night, the stained glass in the church across from the front rooms glows beautifully. We love staying at Moon River B&B, with its comfortable rooms and historic feel. Denny’s building, Moon River, is beautiful, and the floors, woodwork, and furniture look much as they probably did 150 years ago. Sunday breakfast was delicious. We plan to return soon. It’s a uniquely enjoyable experience.

We only wish we’d stayed longer. The garden suite was massive, charming, and right in the city, with three bed options. Denny, the innkeeper, greeted us warmly and gave us spot-on suggestions. We had a magical bourbon tasting at Olde Pogue, dinner by the river at Caproni’s, and a cocktail at Kenton stories with spirits. We ended with a fabulous breakfast at the moon river bed and breakfast, classic home-cooked biscuits and gravy, amazing eggs, and great hospitality. We had a great conversation and shared stories with another guest, a professor from Reno attending a workshop, and with the innkeeper. The Moon Tiver was absolutely amazing, and we’d stay again. We’d love to visit Maysville, KY, the birthplace of Bourbon, again.

Our host Denny was awesome and made us feel right at home. The breakfast was fantastic, and the whole family had a wonderful stay. It’s a beautiful, comfortable, and quiet home, with nicely appointed rooms in the heart of downtown Maysville. On beautiful Market street, it’s steps from all the historic Maysville sites. We’ll definitely be back.

The building has been redone but still feels authentic. As I recall, the owner is an Architech and knows a thing or two about historical restoration. For breakfast, I would have asked for bacon and eggs, but didn’t; what was served was continental, and I’d suggest perhaps offering a larger spread. The location is great, right downtown, and it’s an easy walk around the historic city, with lots of neat painted murals on the levee walls, including a fabulous one of Rosemary Clooney, who has roots in the city. The Ohio river is a short walk away, along with a lovely, epic bridge.
