OYO Hotel Valley McAlester

The room was dirty when we moved in. My husband and I were told to clean it when we left and we'd get our $100 back. After inspection and approval, they said the refund would take four days. We paid through Cash App, so it should have been instant. The woman at the front desk was BEYOND RUDE. We got no receipt, even when we asked, either for the deposit or the monthly payment. She'd take your clothes out of the washer and dryer, put your things somewhere else, and deny she had anything to do with it. Don't forget your key, because it angers them to do their job. Give your money to a place where the people want to do the job they applied for.

The stockyards next door didn't bother us at all, and we really enjoyed our stay. The park is quiet and well maintained, with grass, trees, and a few picnic tables. It has pull-through sites with full power and water hookups and accommodates big, fully contained house trucks. T-Mobile hot spot reception was great for streaming, and our AT&T phone coverage was clear. Groceries and shopping are a short drive away. We look forward to coming back many times.

The staff were nice, getting in and out was easy, and it's close to things you might need or want. But I wish we'd known it was right behind the stockyards and across from the railroad tracks. The cattle bawled loudly all night. We stayed Monday, and there must have been a sale Tuesday morning. I first thought only one train came through, thank goodness, but correction, it passed more than once.

Only the basics are available, and it's way overpriced. It's not close to the casino. They did have 50 amp, but the train is right across the street.
