Super 8 McCall

The staff were really friendly, and the room was clean, which I appreciated. But a few things made the stay frustrating. The carpet was wrinkled in several places, and the room feels dated and ready for updates. The pillows had nice filling, but they were about the size of small couch cushions. I move around in my sleep, so I kept rolling off them, and I don't normally bring my own pillow. Noise from the hall and the neighboring rooms carried easily, too. There’s also a strange switch by the door that cuts power to the TV. Turning it back on means waiting around 15 minutes for the TV to reboot.

The free breakfast has a nice range of things to choose from. I also liked how the entry and front desk feel welcoming, more like a lodge than a standard hotel. The staff were very polite and caring, and patient with all my questions. I love this place and will choose it again when I stay in McCall.

Breakfast had loads to pick from, including fresh raspberries, strawberries, and huckleberries for waffles or mini pancakes. The room was very clean, and the friendly service made this hotel better than I expected.

The room was roomy, which was nice for visiting with family, and the bed was comfortable. Our King Suite was spotless, at the end of the hall, with little hallway noise and an entrance by the east stairway. The place is older, though, and the carpet is loose in spots. I didn't use the jaguzzi tub. Check-in was nearly a mess. At 3pm they said our reserved room wasn't ready and asked if we'd take another one. I held my ground, and suddenly it was ready. The desk staff were pleasant and there 24 hours. Breakfast was a basic selection of cereal, bread, pastries, waffles, eggs, and drinks. The second night, other guests had their TV blaring all night. I wished the heat/AC unit had a fan setting to drown it out, but it didn't. I'd stay again.
