I won’t stay at Cobblestone again. At check-in they asked me to initial a form stating I had no other guests, no pet, and wouldn’t smoke. They also said I’d initially be charged for a safe even though I told them I wouldn’t use it. The form advised against paying by debit card, yet they added another $100 to mine. The clerk said it was for things I might buy, but at checkout I was told it covered possible room damage and could take up to two weeks to come off. They didn’t take my word about the safe at check-in, but the checkout clerk accepted my word that I hadn’t used it.

The rooms are okay, though the shower pressure is low. On weekdays the hot breakfast was only eggs and a meat. There was a container of sausage gravy and another food warmer above the eggs, so it looks like there might be more on weekends. You can smell the pool as soon as you enter the building. It’s small, and there’s no hot tub.

The hotel was really quiet, and there are plenty of food options nearby. We were welcomed by friendly staff, and our room was incredible, clean and spacious. We’ll be back.

I left my wedding ring in the shower, and the staff called to tell me they had found it and kept it at the front desk. That was amazing. Both staff members were helpful and accommodating. It’s one of the best places to stay in McCook, with a great breakfast selection, laundry available, and a nice clean pool.

The building is laid out well, with the fitness room and dining area conveniently placed. There’s also a nice spot in reception where you can work on a computer away from your room. The entry, hallways, rooms, and bathrooms were all super clean. Breakfast had plenty of choices, and the staff were accommodating and professional. We’ll definitely stay here next time we’re passing through.
