The sheets were never changed during the 10 days we stayed, even though we were told the bedding would be changed every three days. Housekeeping spent about five minutes every other day on the room, and we ended up sweeping and cleaning more than they did. Other guests left messes from their dogs, so we cleaned up after them as well as our own dogs to avoid stepping in anything. We had planned to stay three weeks while waiting for our new home, and the night staff knew about our several well-trained show dogs when we checked in. After a week, the owners raised the dog charge for the next week, making the dogs cost more than the room for two people. The day staff were accommodating, but the night staff who checked us in had told the owners they didn't know how many dogs we had. The owners seem greedy. We've moved to a much nicer, cheaper hotel, so the Super 8 owners have lost that extra revenue. And breakfast was not free.

Management accused me of putting holes in the sheets, but I don't smoke and had nothing in the room that could have caused them. They searched my trash, found discarded cigar wrappers, and seemed to use that to make up a connection and keep my deposit. That felt invasive and unprofessional. When I was allowed back in, the supposedly fresh linen already had stains and holes, which made the whole thing even more suspicious. The manager argued that the sheets had no holes or stains and refused to refund me. It feels like a setup and a common way to take guests' money. Save yourself the stress and stay somewhere else.

The employee was very nice and gave me a second-floor room yesterday, Saturday, February 21st, after I was guided there for 340 miles. But leaving was a disaster. It had rained, and when I stepped onto the stairs, I fell and badly hurt my back, even though I was careful. Those stairs aren't safe. I told the receptionist and asked her to check the cameras.

Everything was clean and worked properly, and housekeeping came daily. The front desk staff were polite and professional. The room was nice enough, and there were lots of places to eat within walking distance.
