FairBridge Inn & Suites McDonough

I booked and paid in full, thinking I'd be close by because my father is dying. He needed me at home, so I stayed there to help as much as I could. I asked for a refund because of the emergency, but they refused. My whole family lives nearby, and I'll go out of my way to stay somewhere else next time. This place doesn't seem to care about customer service.

The staff were super nice, but the room was nasty. There was a hole above the shower, so I showered at my family's house, and the roach bugs were terrible. The phone didn't work, and there was a half-used shampoo bottle that I assume the last guest left. One day the water was out, and when I asked the front desk for a bottle of water, I was charged for it. The quality doesn't justify $400 for three nights. I should've looked at the room before paying.

The check-in guy had sandals on, which fit the general chaos of the place. The front desk had bulletproof glass like a 7-Eleven in a crime documentary, and the location felt sketchy and unsafe. My room smelled strongly of weed, the shower and toilet area looked like they hadn't been cleaned since the early 2000s, and the sink seemed to have been shattered and glued back together. At least there were no bed bugs, thankfully, but I still slept with one eye open. You get what you pay for, and I wouldn't pay for this again, even for free.

The night check-in guy is pleasant, and the beds are comfortable. How quiet it is depends on which days you stay. We keep coming back because it's cheap, but every time I have to scrub the bathroom myself. Housekeeping needs to do a better job between guests. The shower curtains barely hang on the rod and don't do much, the outside trash cans are always overflowing, and the doors are missing security latches. This hotel could be so much better, but they don't seem to care about making improvements. It's a cheap hotel, and it shows.
