Americas Best Value Inn & Suites McDonough

I was lost after dark and couldn’t see where to go, but a staff member helped my friend guide me by phone and held my reservation so I could get a room. I was so grateful to find a peaceful place and finally get the sleep I needed. My Bible says God gives us rest through our trials, and I slept like a baby. Even my Chromebook, which had stopped working and said it needed a new motherboard, was working again in the morning. Thank you to Jesus, my friend, and the staff at Americas Inn. I’m praising God with a thankful heart. Amen.

The location is decent, and the front desk staff were nice, but I’d arrived late after traveling and found the place at the last minute. The room smelled like cigarettes despite being marked non-smoking, the TV didn’t work, and I was honestly scared to sleep on the sheets. There was mold in the fridge, the bathroom was a raggedy mess, and everything else felt outdated. At 10, the owner knocked and said I had five minutes to leave, even though checkout was at 11. I’d rather sleep in my car. I wouldn’t come back or recommend it.

The bed made me itch, and the yellow pillows had no cases. The bathroom sink leaked underneath, and there were holes in the walls, some like they’d been punched and others that may have been left from old mounts. The fridge smelled awful when opened, though I didn’t take a picture of it. There were bloody boogers on a wall, too. We left right away, so the photos aren’t great. If you need a place to stay, drive a few minutes farther to another hotel. I’d rate this one zero if I could.

We were stuck looking for somewhere convenient because every other hotel was sold out, and the manager let us check in at 5 in the morning. The bathroom had recently been redone. I didn’t see roaches or bedbugs. It did the job.
