Courtyard Marriott Waldorf

The friendly staff are the one thing this place has going for it. Beyond that, I had a lot of problems. The heater was unreliable, so my room stayed cold, and there wasn't any hand soap in the bathroom. The wardrobe blocked the TV, and the outlets beside the bed wouldn't hold the charging cables. Most of the remote buttons didn't work either. When I called the front desk, they said there were no technicians available to fix it. The bistro wasn't open, and it's hard for me to find much else positive to say.

I had to get dressed and go down to the front desk to chase the extra items I'd ordered before arrival. I reminded staff twice, and never got half of them. I couldn't get through from the room or my own phone. Before I arrived, I called six times without reaching anyone, even after contacting sales, reservations, and catering. The room phone service was also sporadic. This is the third Marriott I've visited in two months with the same phone problem. It needs to be fixed.

We booked rooms ahead for a business trip with six employees, but didn't get the right rooms or bed setup we'd requested. Some of us ended up on sleeper sofas, then we had to switch rooms in the middle of the day and lost a lot of time. The front desk employee also had her boyfriend hanging out in the lobby at work. They were dancing and practicing fighting moves. It felt really unprofessional, and the staff didn't seem to care about the guests. I don't usually leave reviews, but people need to hear about this.

The sofa bed was the most comfortable one I've ever slept on. The location is handy for restaurants and shopping, and the staff were friendly. You can get meals for a fee, but there's no free breakfast or bar. The shower was sitting in the shower.
