The lobby music was a nice surprise and gave the place a relaxed, welcoming feel. We’ve stayed at the Candlewood Inn in McDonough, GA because our son plays soccer there, about an hour and a half from home. The room is spacious, clean, and comfortable, and having a full kitchen makes the trip much easier. Free laundry was a lifesaver. There’s no breakfast, but with room to cook our own meals, we didn’t mind. We had a couple of small issues, and each was handled right away, professionally, and respectfully. The front desk staff, housekeeping team I met, and manager were all friendly with great personalities. They were all wonderful, Ms. D! We’ll definitely be back.

I was very disappointed by what happened on checkout day. I woke up to an extra charge on my account and asked Daniella at the front desk about it. She looked into it and said it was for a new reservation made with my card on file on 03/07. I’m an IHG Platinum Elite member with lots of reward points, and I’d booked this whole two-night stay, 03/06-03/08, using points. I had given my confirmation number to the receptionist Christine when I arrived. Daniella continued investigating, and shortly after I went back to my room, Christine called. She said Daniella had told her I had a charge issue. I asked why my card had been charged and a new reservation made on my behalf. Christine said she’d called me and didn’t get an answer, so she made the changes. My booking already showed 03/06-03/08, the dates I intended to stay. Changes shouldn’t have been made without my consent. At first, everything had been great, from the location to the rooms, and I’d already been thinking about coming back. That extra charge changed that.

I’d been staying at Ben’s for four weeks without any problems until I was asked to move rooms for someone who needed wheelchair access. I had no issue with moving and was told I could do it over the weekend. When I asked if I could move sooner, they said yes. I then said it was late and Saturday would be perfect, and got nothing but attitude from the front desk employee. They had a manager contact my employer, saying I was giving them problems. I’d been kind the whole time and had only asked to move the next day, like they said I could. It was incredibly rude and unprofessional. I won’t stay again if I don’t have to. Very rude.

The beds are the most comfortable we’ve slept on, which really matters after long tournament days. We’ve been repeat guests at the Candlewood Suites in McDonough for a while because our son plays soccer there, about an hour and a half from home. The staff are friendly and make the service feel personal every time. They’ve helped with the little things, too: when we forgot toothpaste, they gave us some for free, and they handed us Taco Mac coupons for dinner nearby. The rooms are clean and spacious, and the kitchenette works perfectly for tournament weekends. Candlewood Suites McDonough has become our dependable home-away-from-home. Service is 10 stars, and we highly recommend it for sports trips or anyone looking for a comfortable, welcoming place.

The rooms have been newly renovated and look really nice. The staff are AMAZING, so friendly and helpful, and they make you feel welcome.
