The loose gravel at the accessible parking spot and the roughly 4-inch step into the cabin meant my husband, who uses a manual wheelchair, couldn't get in without help. The sink also didn't allow a wheelchair to roll underneath. The room was very small, and the king bed was pushed against the wall. I had to climb onto it, and there wasn't a nightstand on my side. On arrival the cabin smelled strongly of gas from the heater. I told the front desk, and maintenance came quickly. The worker said he couldn't smell anything, though he said he'd check to reassure us. One connection was obviously loose and took several turns to tighten. He was dismissive about what seemed like a real, dangerous gas leak. The smell stopped once it was tightened. This was one of the worst places we've stayed. I would absolutely avoid it if you use a wheelchair, and after the gas leak I wouldn't recommend it to people who don't either.

Plenty of room in the lodge, and the cabins are the best around Denali National Park. It was quiet and comfortable. The free hot tub and sauna were great after a hike.

The staff were so friendly and helpful. Craig, our shuttle driver, was especially kind. He took us to our Tundra Wilderness Tour at 6:30 in the morning even though the shuttles weren't meant to start until 7. It's a little far from the rail depot and visitors center, but frequent shuttles serve all the main stops. The rooms are a decent size, though the showers are small. There's a sauna and hot water pools on site, plus a restaurant and coffee shop for a quick stop before an early tour.

It feels tucked away, yet it's only 15 minutes from the park. We loved how clean the hot tubs, fire pit, sauna, coffee shop, and restaurant were. Our room was warm and clean, too. Every staff member we met was so nice. When we urgently needed a ride, the shuttle arrived in five minutes and drove us back to our car. We loved staying here.

The cabins were clean and comfortable, with a table and chairs, dresser, tea, coffee, and the usual basics. The whole Denali Cabins complex is charming, well kept, and has plenty of staff. The front desk woman was very helpful. The shuttle is a great option if you don't have a car or would rather not drive to the park. Anders and Craig were friendly, knew their stuff, and were accommodating. Prey served good food, and the coffee house had oatmeal, yogurt, and other grab-and-go items. We didn't use the hot tubs or sauna, but they looked nice and other guests were enjoying them.
