Holiday Inn & Suites McKinney - N Allen by IHG

We come here 3-4 times a year because we love this hotel. The staff are friendly and work hard, and breakfast is hot, delicious, and has a variety of choices. There is a charge for it. I always request extra towels, and they’re fluffy every time.

India and her team made our stay a great one by going above and beyond. Breakfast was great too, with the bacon, eggs, and sausage all cooked just right. Great stay!

We had several problems during this stay. At arrival, I stood at the desk for seven minutes while the attendant handled a reservation call, without once looking up or acknowledging me. Basic service would have been to put the caller on hold and help the person waiting. Later, when my wife was about to lay the baby on the bed, she spotted several blood spots on the comforter. I called the desk and was told we could move, but there was no apology or even surprise. I had to go down for another key. The AC in the replacement room wasn’t working either. The desk told me to check the wall unit, but there was only a thermostat. Then she said she had to turn it on from her end, and it started working. That evening, before we went to a wedding, I found a clump of hair on the bathroom floor beside the counter leg. It wasn’t ours. How did the cleaning crew miss that? Blood on one room’s comforter and hair on another room’s bathroom floor, how clean is this hotel? When we left in the morning, no one was at the desk. I took the luggage down, got the car, loaded it, returned the cart, and waited for my wife and baby to come down. We all got into the car, and the desk was unattended the whole time. Why aren’t guests acknowledged when they arrive, and why was nobody there when we left?

I arrived late, after the front door had been locked, and a woman still helped me get to my room. She seemed glad I’d made it. The room was spacious and clean, and I slept really well on my first night.
