The warm DoubleTree cookies at check-in were such a welcoming touch and easily my favorite part. The hotel isn’t new, but it’s been kept up really well and felt comfortable. There’s a metro station nearby and a mall you can walk to. I had a great stay and would recommend it.

Ethiopia and Tiblets were wonderful in the Social Cafe. They made me feel at ease and kept checking that I had everything I needed, and then some. The hotel is great, and the Metro is only about a 5-10 minute walk away.

Captain made a great impression with the hospitality, and the warm cookies were a nice treat at the end of the day. My room was spacious and comfortable, and the front desk staff were pleasant and accommodating. I had a wonderful stay at the DoubleTree By Hilton ( Just). Well done!

I felt more uncomfortable with the staff than I did with the cockroach in my room. On the evening of September 14, around 8 PM, I found one on my first day. The bathtub was also draining slowly. When I went to reception, Mr. Skinner kept looking at his computer and said, “sorry about that, thank you for letting us know”. He offered to send someone to fix the drain, and that was fixed. For the cockroaches, though, there was no solution, even after I raised it again. His tone came across as if I should just deal with it. I can’t say whether prejudice played a part, but I did wonder if he would have responded the same way to a local. I felt unwelcome and uneasy. This stay is covered by a business contract between the hotel and my employer, so I’ll be reporting the incident to my company with evidence. I also looked through other reviews and saw complaints about staff behavior and discrimination. It seemed like there could be a pattern, and to me it suggests management is falling short on basic hospitality. Sad.

The checkout experience left a bad taste on what should have been a joyful day. I was in town for a medical procedure meant to help save someone's life. When I asked whether the medical company's card would be charged, the woman at the desk was very rude and said it couldn't be used unless someone came down with the physical card or completed an authorization form. She said I would have to use my personal card because no form was there. I asked how she could know whether a form had been sent if she hadn't checked. She replied that it was common sense. The company had, in fact, sent one, since their card was on file, and later showed me proof of the authorization form. I had to repeat my question several times, as if she thought I hadn't understood. She eventually said she hadn't received one when she checked me in the night before, but she didn't check me in that night. Then she insisted I didn't have a form, and after I asked again how she knew, she said I had just told her. It might have been comical if she hadn't been so snappy. Lady, it's 2025, learn to use your work computer. I had no trouble checking in, but checking out was another story. Thanks for trying to ruin a day.
