Hilton McLean Tysons Corner

We're due to stay at Hilton McLean VA and booked at a higher rate because the reservation showed what looked like fake overbooking. The price has since dropped significantly. We called and asked if they could adjust our rate, or at least offer some amenities so we wouldn't feel stuck paying the unwanted price. The Front Desk/Reservation Management team didn't seem to understand customer satisfaction or expectations. We're left with this situation and hope Hilton will provide better staff training at McLean VA.

We come here for our company's party every year, and the staff are what make the hotel stand out. They seem happy to have you and go out of their way to help. When I ripped my dress, they even helped fix it. Somehow, they always find a solution. It’s rare for every person you meet to be so lovely. Suki is an actual angel, and we adore seeing her each year. Susan downstairs at the restaurant is just the sweetest, kindest person. The rooms are nice and the facilities are great too. Thanks for making our yearly trip so special!

The old fashioned look inside is beautiful, and the glass elevators give you a nice view of the hotel. The staff were very nice, and there are useful services on site, including room service and morning shuttle buses. My room was kind of small and clean overall, though there were a few small stains on the blanket. The food I ordered was delicious, although it was a little odd to get it in to-go containers.

I don't usually leave a negative review when a place makes a real effort to sort things out, but I had several problems here and very little follow-up. The room itself was adequate and the location pretty good, but service was seriously lacking. I wouldn't recommend staying if you have other options. I noticed how dusty the room was the morning after arriving. I’d been rushing to get ready for the wedding rehearsal the night before, so I hadn’t seen it then. The next morning, shortly before getting ready for the wedding, I took a photo showing dust thick enough to write in. The rest of the room seemed fine, so I assume it had been cleaned earlier, then left vacant for a while without a fresh check before I arrived. I told the desk staff about the dust. They didn't offer to clean the room or move me, just asked whether I wanted membership points, though I wasn't a member, or a breakfast discount for the next morning. We had to leave early and weren't staying for brunch, so that didn't help. I asked for 10% off the room price and was given a management email. I wrote as soon as I left and never got a reply. I was there with a large group for my friend's wedding. The rehearsal was at the hotel at 5 PM, and we all had 4 PM check-in times. The bridal party called weeks in advance to ask about checking in early, but everyone, including the bride and groom, was told to call on arrival day and that an earlier time wasn't guaranteed. They also canceled the bride's reserved suite without telling her until the morning we arrived. They gave her a smaller room and another room down the hall for the bridal party to get ready in, which was helpful, but losing the reservation was concerning. We had to move between rooms, and someone came in to clear the second one while we were still getting ready.
