Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott McPherson

When I asked the manager to look at urine stains on the bathroom floor and pubic hair on the toilet seat, she said it was “not that bad.” I was a younger guest, and I can't say for sure whether my age had anything to do with the disrespect, but I wasn't compensated. The hotel seems to put profit ahead of cleanliness. You can expect to wait several minutes at the front desk before anyone comes to help. One elevator has been marked ‘out of order’ since at least August of 2023. If cleanliness matters to you, don't stay here. There are several other hotels nearby, and I'll be looking at those.

The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the fitness center was great. We had to change rooms because the shower wasn't draining properly and water leaked across the floor into the living area. Flies started multiplying around the problem. The laundry dryer had also been out of service for three weeks.

The property was very nice and well maintained, with clean rooms, a good hot breakfast, and great front desk staff. I didn't have time to use the amenities, though some kids I spoke with really liked the pool. The pullout couch wasn't great, the metal support rails came through the mattress. I was tired enough to fall asleep anyway. The fridge's time limit was also a bit of a pain because one guest had insulin to store. We wish we'd known on the first day to press the button about every eight hours. Still, I'd stay again without hesitation.

We were booked from 9/3 through 9/15, and the service seemed a little unusual from the beginning. Customer service was decent overall, but when I asked housekeeping for towels, they told me to go downstairs and ask. Inconvenient, though not a huge deal. The bigger issue came on 9/8. My team and I went to work, got rained out, ran a few errands, then returned to find water coming through the window in one of our four rooms. I took videos, and when we checked the other three rooms, water was leaking through their windows too. I showed the video at the front desk and reported it. The response was, “Yeah, that’s normal. Do you want some towels?” Water coming into multiple rooms shouldn't be treated as normal, and towels aren't an adequate fix. I expected better care, maintenance, and professionalism from a Marriott-branded property.
