Holiday Inn Express and Suites Washington Meadow L

The first three days of our five-day stay were great. The last two were very uncomfortable while we waited for the roads to clear so we could drive out of state. We’ve stayed here often since 2023, about four to six times a year for four or five days, and this was our worst visit. A toilet problem with poop coming out led to a complaint. The fill-in manager got angry and said maintenance had come up to fix it and that we were disrespectful. The first time he came, my child was in the shower, so we politely asked him to come back and he agreed. He later said we didn’t answer the door, but he also said we were gone then, so why not use the key to enter? Later, downstairs, Angie pointed at me, shook her head, and yelled. I called IHG to discuss the extended stay and how to resolve things, but while they were on the phone she kept yelling at me and telling me to let her speak to them. I got off the call and apologized in case I’d upset her, but she just said “mmmhhhmmm” and walked away without apologizing. After that, she made snide remarks whenever she saw me. There was no hot breakfast that morning. Angie and the crew she brought from her location sat in the lobby talking about how the manager on leave, Amy, had let the place go and not done her job. They said no one was trained and they’d had to run to Walmart, Sam's, and a couple of other stores to make the place halfway decent. Staff gave me Angie’s name and asked me to make a complaint, saying they hadn’t enjoyed her visit either. I’m supposed to get a call from property manager AMY, though I’m not sure I will. IHG is giving them 72 hours. Will and the overnight staff are amazing employees. Holiday Inn, you can do better. Nobody deserves to be treated like this.
