The front desk woman was the one decent part of this stay. She was helpful and seemed sorry about the condition of the place. The stairwell reeked of cigarettes and had stains everywhere, and my supposedly non-smoking room had a burn hole in the sheets. I could manage that, but finding a dead bed bug on my pillow after work the next day was the last straw. There was dirt on the desk, and nobody mentioned the broken elevator before putting me on the third floor. A woman I saw checking in was already complaining about a mold smell and asking for a refund. I should've listened. Worst hotel I've ever stayed in. I'll never come back, and I'd tell anyone to spend more for peace of mind.
This place needs repairs before it can reasonably be called a hotel. The heater wouldn't work, the TV wouldn't turn on, there were holes in the walls, and the mattress was ripped. Blankets and washcloths were stained, one blanket had a hole, and the whole place was dirty. We didn't feel safe, either. We could hear fighting and a phone ringing above us. Breakfast was supposedly included, but there wasn't even coffee. The elevator was broken, and the staff and guests both appeared to be homeless. I'm not sure what's going on there, but it doesn't seem like a hotel business. It should be closed until it's restored. See the pictures.
We'd prepaid and had confirmation for a room, but when we arrived 10 minutes later the hotel was locked with a note saying it was “temporarily closed.” Three other cars were in the lot, and some people still had their belongings inside and didn't know what to do. We all tried calling several times, but the phones were down. We booked because of the bad roads and weather, so being left like this was a horrendous experience. Awful service, and I'm more than disappointed. This is the last place I'd ever recommend.
The check-in took 20 minutes even though I had booked and paid in advance, and the woman at the desk seemed clueless. Then there was dirt everywhere, a nasty smell through the whole building, and only two working lights in the room. The cable TV didn't work either. My comforter had several cigarette burns, the furnace/AC cover was coming loose, and the door's deadbolt had been removed. I wish I'd read the reviews first. This is by far the worst hotel I've stayed in, and honestly the authorities should shut it down.
Bed bugs. I paid $120 because every nearby hotel was booked for college move-in, and in the middle of August there was no air conditioning. When I asked to move rooms, the desk told me the hotel system was down, though nobody had mentioned that at check-in. I had to ask four times for towels and a washcloth. At 11:48 p.m., with a 4 a.m. wake-up ahead, I finally said I wasn't leaving the desk until I got a washcloth so I could shower and sleep. The woman rolled her eyes and said, “well my god,” like I was bothering her. The sink had beard hair and what looked like dip spit in it. The shower head was caked in grime and sprayed water everywhere, and there was very noticeable urine on the floor by the toilet. The bed was among the worst I've ever slept in. While dressing at 4 a.m., I saw a bug on my shirt. It was a bed bug. I panicked, checked around the bed, and packed right away. In the hall, two cats were roaming loose, and one had left a mess. When I reported the bed bug, the desk said it must have been a roach. I mentioned the cats too, and she just shrugged. The TV didn't work either. I'm not expecting a Hilton, but this was completely unjustifiable. Please don't waste your money here.
