It's quiet and peaceful here, and there aren't many people around. The housekeeping staff clearly care about keeping things clean, but they don't interrupt you constantly. The toilet and sink were the cleanest I've ever seen in a hotel. The owners also seem vigilant about keeping the property safe, and the foot traffic I see next door at the other place that starts with a 6 in the name doesn't seem to come over here. My son and I are enjoying our extended stay at the travelers inn, despite a mix up with the coffee machine. I really liked my stay. It's a hidden gem in the rouge valley if you want a clean place without tons of other people bothering you.

I left the hotel and returned the key after trying two rooms, both of which felt neglected and unclean. In the first, the sheets had food crumbs and human hair, and lampshades were missing. At the front desk, a woman was on the phone with a man who misheard her and thought she'd said “bugs.” That was alarming, especially if bugs are actually a problem there. The second room was no better: even more hair and several stains on the sheets, dusty surfaces, milk like stains on the desk, and a chair in the corner that looked unsanitary. Some hallways also smelled strongly of cigarettes, though the hotel is advertised as non smoking. I asked Hotels.com for a refund because of the conditions. They submitted a request, but the hotel denied it under its policy. I went in person to try to sort it out and was denied again. Staff shifted responsibility to Hotels.com, which wasn't accurate. Hotels.com followed up and tried reaching the hotel again, but so far the hotel has ignored them. I'm extremely glad I didn't end up staying. Based on this experience, I can't recommend the hotel and strongly caution anyone considering it. The dirty rooms, poor communication, and refusal to acknowledge the substandard conditions make it a place to avoid.

The room smelled awful as soon as I opened the door, and the mattress and bedding were covered in cigarette burns. There was no working hot water and no soap in the dispensers. The AC barely worked, rattled loudly, and was too noisy to leave on while I slept. There were homeless people around, and noise from the other rooms and hallway carried in. I've stayed in plenty of cheap, sketchy motels, but this was by far the most disgusting and worst. This place shouldn't be listed on apps. That 4.4 review average on priceline must be fabricated.

The showers were dirty, so I bought my own supplies to clean off the mold and mildew.

The front area and hallways reeked of cigarettes. There were gaps of about 2 inches under the first floor doors by C and B, at least as far as I could tell. To try to keep insects out of your room, I'd put a towel by the door. We had booked a room for a week because maintenance was redoing our bathroom and we couldn't stay at home. I had to bring my cat. While I was outside with him a couple of feet from the motel, I saw at least two roaches crawling around. Soon after I got back to the room, I spotted another one inside. I stepped on it right away, called the front desk, and was told to come down for spray. The man handed me Raid ant and roach spray. I was talking about seeing one or more roaches outside, and he replied, “oh yeah I saw you outside,” with his mouth full of food. I could barely understand him. That was unsettling and uncomfortable. Use your manners. The man at the desk blamed me for bringing roaches in with my cat carrier, which is unacceptable. I know for a fact my cat didn't track any in because I put him back in his cage quickly after seeing the roaches. You can't blame guests for a problem at YOUR place of business. He also denied there were roaches after I brought him the one I'd stepped on shortly after calling about the problem. I have two different pictures of two different roaches. 0/10, would NEVER recommend. Like another reviewer said, this is a LAST RESORT motel if it's your only option.
