Motel 6 Medford, OR - North

They helped me find resources when I needed them, and if this place and its staff hadn't been here last year, I would've spent the winter sleeping in the bushes. I'm grateful for that. They clearly put a lot of work into helping the community, though you only see it if you take time to get to know them around the office, laundry room, or maintenance. I suspect they could earn more elsewhere, but maybe they stay to keep rooms affordable. The staff are friendly, responsive, welcoming, kind, and understanding. I acted like a fool one night and disturbed other guests, but after talking it through, the manager let me stay. If you need a low-key, inexpensive place for a few nights, this Motel 6 is worth a look. Leave them a tip if you can, and clean up after yourself.

Josie, our Motel GM, was incredibly kind and accommodating. She walked us to another room with a new mattress, checked whether we needed anything, and gave us a late checkout. She also said she'd keep working on the problems, including asking for new mattresses. We got the first night comped, too. That's why the service, the new room, and the price earned four stars from me. The first room we were given after arriving late was put together but hadn't been cleaned. The floors were black, and I went through 11 lysol wipes on them. The counters were soiled, and the sheets had what looked like shart stains and lots of little hairs. They gave us clean bedding, but the mattress and pillows still didn't feel safe to sleep on, so we called corporate and spent the night on our air mattress and our own bedding from the road trip. The location is convenient, near Fred meyers, elmer’s, and food for less, though being by the airport means some questionable people pass through, and you do see some of the clientele typical of a low-priced place. I think housekeeping and the mattresses and pillows need work, but there are nice rooms here. If we'd gotten the replacement room first, we wouldn't have had a problem. The service and price were good, so talk to the hotel if an issue comes up.

I booked a King Bed room with a microfridge for six days, but mine had no fridge, microwave, or basic amenities. I explained to the front desk woman that I had several frozen meals that would spoil without a refrigerator, but she didn't seem interested and refused to help. The food went bad and I had to throw it all out. This is only day one, and the room is already in poor shape, with the toilet seat lid missing. Really disappointing and unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

They even let me check out an hour later, which helped me a lot. The rooms were clean, the staff were friendly, and the location was decent. For the price, this motel was a good deal. I'd recommend it to friends looking for an affordable room, and I'll come back.
