Royal Crest Motel

The bed was comfortable, the air conditioning worked well, and it was quiet in my room on the back side of the motel. The price was low, though I think it should have been about $15-$20 less in total. Inside, there was an unpleasant smell, and I killed two roaches near the bathroom soon after arriving. Paul saw three more in the morning. The room looked fairly clean but was dated and could use updates. A light bulb was missing. It had a small bar of soap, shampoo, a refrigerator, and a microwave. 7/18/25.

At just 20, my son was in a hurry to leave after waking up covered in bites at this hotel, so he didn't think to take photos. He was in Medford for a hackathon, and he and other people could see bedbugs crawling around. Otherwise, I would have reported it right away. This is unsanitary and completely unacceptable. The place should be shut down until it's properly treated.

The room didn't smell, and the shower pressure was good, but the rest of the property was in really rough shape. The stairs were badly rusted, stains were everywhere in the room, big sections of paint were missing, and all the blankets had large burn marks. Worse than a Motel 6.

My wife found cockroaches in the bathroom late at night and wouldn't use the bath or shower. She was glad to leave the next morning. The motel is behind a gas station, and we didn't like the noise, especially from a very loud motorcycle gang late at night. Everything was old and dated, and cleanliness was minimal. It may be cheap, but we found a much better, clean hotel nearby for about $10 more. That one had breakfast and an outdoor pool, so this motel didn't feel like a good value.
