Port d'Hiver

Everything was spectacular, and we're planning to come back. The place is beautifully decorated, right on the corner with the beach across the street. Several great restaurants are an easy walk away. We loved the hot tub and the jetted tub in our room. And the pillows were the best I've ever found at any accommodation.

Charlotte's Suite was beautiful and just like the pictures, with all sorts of thoughtful touches. There was a personalized welcome card on the bed, huge cookies at the suite's coffee bar, and ice cream, snacks, and soft drinks available all the time. The complimentary breakfast was great too. Lauren and Kaitlin gave outstanding customer service. We managed to arrange our schedules to stay an extra night, and they made it work. I own a hotel, so I recognize how extraordinary their service was. Truly EXCEPTIONAL experience!

The ocean view rooms do get road noise, and the heater struggled on a cold night even with extra floor heaters. A few more blankets would have helped. That said, the room overlooking the ocean was gorgeous, the service was incredible, and breakfast was gourmet. The afternoon happy hour had apps and drinks, and the courtyard pool and spa felt like a sanctuary. It was an easy walk to the beach and inter coastal, with lots of nice amenities and little touches. We loved this special place and the little town, and were happy to call it home for a few nights.

We've stayed at Port d'Hiver six or seven times, and pick a different room on each visit. Every stay has been amazing, since each room has its own charm. The staff are outstanding, and the property is quiet and private, in a perfect location. Melbourne Beach is one of our favorite places to relax. This bed an breakfast nails the laid back vibe while still feeling classy. The Cuban restaurant next door is great, and within walking distance there's also a surf shop, one of the best grocery stores I've ever shopped in, a liquor store, and several other good restaurants.
