Harbor Island Beach Club by Villatel

There was lots for our group to do in the house. We especially liked the poker room, basketball game, cozy TV room, fun kids' room decorations, and the roomy couches and shared spaces. The home was beautifully maintained and decorated, with comfortable rooms, plenty of space, and thoughtful touches. The kids' amenities, and the ones for kids at heart, didn't disappoint. A few things could have been better. Getting around and reaching the ocean meant dealing with so many access codes, which got tiresome. The kitchen could use basics like towels, hand soap, counter cleaner, salt, and pepper. The pool heat was broken throughout our stay, which was disappointing. Communication was impeccable from start to finish, and the customer service felt first-class. The house was perfect for our group overall, and we'd definitely consider coming back.

We had a great stay with Villatel. The house was spacious, the rooms were comfortable, and the amenities kept us busy without needing to go anywhere. Beach access was great too. We were disappointed there weren't outside amenities like at the Orlando resort, but it's a nice, quiet spot for a beach getaway.

The unit itself was nice, with high ceilings and a well-equipped kitchen, but the smallest bedroom had no dresser for clothes that can't be hung up, and the nightstands were too small to be useful. The showers had almost no water pressure, apparently a common complaint at the property. The view was grossly misrepresented. Instead of corner windows overlooking the beach, we looked at the building across the street and huge electrical poles. Road traffic was incredibly loud inside, and the balcony wasn't usable because of the noise. There were several maintenance issues. The maintenance team arrived hours late and still didn't fix everything. Customer service was terrible. Our calls and emails weren't returned, and when we finally reached someone, they only repeated empty lines like “We understand that would be frustrating to you” without offering a solution. Management sent a welcome email the day before checkout and the September events calendar during our DECEMBER stay. We asked for the December events list and got no response. Terrible property management and customer care!

The place looks like the listing photos and is as described. The home was immaculate, the beds were comfortable, and the kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, towels, blankets, and toiletries. The neighborhood felt safe, attractions were truly walkable, and parking was easy. The host was clear and helpful with instructions, responsive when contacted, and even texted coupons and offered to help if I needed anything.
