Downtown Inn & Studio Suites

The room smelled strongly of cigarettes even though I’d booked a non-smoking room. It was dirty and moldy, with filthy carpets, and the property looked like a place where nothing good happens. The third-party booking site never showed the outside, so we only saw it when we arrived. I went downstairs hoping for a refund, but the first thing I saw was “NO REFUNDS.” They offered to move us, but I didn’t see the point. Don’t waste your time here. Spend a few extra dollars for somewhere clean.

The location was great and the price was cheap, but the missing TV and coffee were baffling. After we checked in, they told us the TV didn’t work, then clarified that the cable was out and none of the rooms had TV. The hotel advertised breakfast, but didn’t even have coffee, and the pool was advertised but wasn’t in use. There are no convenience stores or coffee shops within a 20-minute walk either. I didn’t love this hotel.

I never even stayed in the room. I paid $274 online to book it and also had to put down a $100 deposit, but the room shown online wasn’t the one I was given. It was dirty, with a big stain on the cover. They wouldn’t refund my money. I’m a working mom and work hard for what I earn, so losing money like that felt awful. It was my first time booking an overnight hotel room with a hot tub, and the whole experience was horrible.

The pool was empty, with gross green-brown water sitting in it. The beds were uncomfortable and noisy, and I could hear people all around us. The place looked old and smelled bad, and it was nothing like the neat, clean photos, which seemed to be from a completely different hotel. We booked a non-smoking room, but it stank of smoke, so they moved us to another one. The area felt kind of dangerous. Nobody broke into our car, thankfully, but we kept worrying someone could get into the room because the back doors are easy to reach from the public road. Some guests seemed to have been living there a long time. The front desk closes at night, so if you need something, you’re stuck waiting until morning. This was a late-night quick fix that cost us sleep and peace of mind. It wasn’t worth it. Drive a little farther.
