MOXY Memphis Downtown

I loved the fun, cute vibe and how comfortable the lobby was for hanging out or getting work done. It was easy to walk to lots of places, and my friend and I didn’t feel we needed to go elsewhere to find somewhere to visit. The hotel was clean, and I’ll absolutely stay here again. Thanks for a lovely weekend!

I added the moxy bar to Google Maps for you all, and I know the Toki highball is decent. You allow pets, but when I asked if I could come in for a cocktail with my chill dog, I was told no. That cost you an easy customer and a reviewer. I do update reviews when things improve, so reach out if you want me to change it. Leaving the back door facing Main open might help bring in bar customers, if that’s something you want.

I used a free night award and points for our two nights at the Moxy, so at least the stay didn’t cost us anything. Still, it was very disappointing. The room was below average for cleanliness, with holes in the window curtain that looked like a dog had chewed them, webs around the ceiling, and what appeared to be black mold in the shower. There was no coffee maker or mini fridge, which was inconvenient. We could hear the neighbors having a normal conversation through the paper-thin walls. Earplugs were available near the elevators, but who wants to sleep wearing those? I’ve had better stays at Fairfield’s and won’t book here again.

I’ve spent years as a motor coach operator, and this was by far my best experience. The hotel staff, especially Christian, Terrell, Mr. Terry (Courtyard by Marriott), the young man with locs whose name I didn’t catch, and the security guard, were incredibly helpful during my stay for the Southern Heritage Classic. Parking wasn’t the best, though I’ve seen worse, but they handled it from start to finish. We had two motor coaches in my set, and the staff had reserved and blocked spaces for us, directed traffic when needed, and already had a plan when five more buses arrived. They showed us so much love and turned what could have been a chaotic parking situation into something great. Few places with limited room for oversized vehicles go out of their way to make parking big buses comfortable. Those guys deserve raises and promotions! The hotel itself was good too, and the room was comfortable and clean. I only missed having a mini fridge and microwave. There were plenty of food options within walking distance, plus entertainment in the square. I met Ms Joyce and Ms Natalie, two sisters who sing blues, and enjoyed listening to them and a man who sang and played harmonica and guitar. I didn’t catch his name or get a photo. This was a really comforting experience for me, and the staff gave me the ultimate driver experience. They were the biggest part of my happy rant.
