Quality Inn Memphis

This was the most awful place. I paid for room 108 and walked in to find the bed unmade. The manager said he'd sent someone to check it, but she checked the sheet and said it showed the room had been made three days earlier. If nobody had been in that room for three days, why was I told the night before that it was occupied and had to sleep on the third floor? I alerted the cleaning staff right away. The worker said she'd tell the manager, but I guess she didn't. He cut me off, refused to give me another room, and I had to spend the night sitting in a chair. The picture in this review is exactly how the room looked when I walked in. I didn't get my money back.

The check-in lady was really nice and said she was new. But the place reeked, the shower was dirty, there were cockroaches, and the bed only had sheets, no blanket. Dogs barked and someone banged on the door across from us, so it wasn't a peaceful night. A cutout in the curtains let someone peep out. The fridge wasn't plugged in, trash outside was overflowing onto the ground, and the lawn hadn't been cared for. Someone did a burnout in the parking lot after midnight.

I only stayed one night because I was too tired to cancel and look elsewhere. I just wanted to rest. The staff I met weren't supportive or professional and seemed like they'd rather be somewhere else. The room was neglected, with no towels, washcloths, cups, or cutlery. They advertise a laundry washing machine, but it looked broken for almost a year, dusty, and surrounded by trash in the guest laundry room. The paths and steps were dirty and dusty, with rubbish all over the floor. The carpet was dusty and stinky.

The lobby was so-so, but I was pleasantly surprised once I got to the room. For the price it was very nice, with a king bed and a large TV. Everything was clean, bug-free, and had little to no odor. They offered a few quick self-serve breakfast items in the morning. It's an older area, so they have some security measures, which is good. I'd stay again.
