The Inn at Midtown by FairBridge

I caught up with one of my old best friends and have always loved this location, in the heart of downtown and within walking distance of Methodist University. The only problem was that she spent a night in my room, which I'd booked a couple of weeks ahead. When she came back the next day, room service had taken all her belongings down to the downstairs office. That wasn't cool, and they jumped the gun. ❤️ 😁👍💯

My husband and I were very disappointed. I paid $89 for one night, and even after room service came to change the sheets, the stay felt like poor value. The used sheets were stained, the tobacco smell was very strong, and the couch and carpet were dirty and stained. The carpet needs updating, and the bathtub was dirty around the edges. The room was filthy, and the outside appearance fooled me. I expected more from a better-known Midtown area, but it wasn't clean or professional. There were no refunds that day and no other rooms to move to. At night we heard racing cars and tires squealing, which made me uncomfortable trying to sleep. Don't waste your money here.

I stayed six days. The rooms are spacious, but I saw roaches, and housekeeping was very rigid, insisting things be done his way or there'd be no service. The front desk woman was disrespectful. Two furniture cleaning guys walked in on me while I was asleep, even though she and I had agreed they wouldn't service my room. I got upset and said I really didn't appreciate it, and she kicked me off the property and told me to leave. It seemed like I was being set up, since they didn't attend to any other rooms after walking in on me.

For $60 a night, I was surprised by how good the room was. It had a big bed, couch and table, desk, microwave, fridge, coffee maker, a large flat HDMI television, a spacious bathroom, and two dressers and two night stands. The room was big and very nice, like it had just been renovated, with everything looking sharp. The area seemed fine, and I wasn't too worried about my car in the lot. I travel for work a lot, usually in Florida, but sometimes in big cities like Memphis. Given how cheap the rooms were, I hadn't expected much. I'd definitely recommend staying here.
