Cliff House at Otter Point

The house is spacious, quiet, and in a beautiful setting. It gave two to three families room for privacy, and we had a peaceful stay. For the price, though, it needs some upgrades. The internet signal was spotty throughout the house. I know there aren't many ISPs out there, but I'd suggest the owners spend $300 on a mesh network. We were told the hot tub had been drained and refilled. A man was filling it when we checked in, but he hadn't cleaned it. The water looked cloudy and yellowish, with lots of hair floating in it. I have a hot tub myself and made the mistake of pulling out the filter to wash it. You don't want to see one in that state. Eww. There were signs saying not to use the washing machine because of the drought and to go to the laundromat. It seemed like they were more concerned about the water bill than the drought, since doing laundry nearby still uses water from the same aquifer. The kitchen was also missing basics like a whisk, and the frying pan needs replacing because its nonstick coating is chipping off. All in all, we had a good stay in a peaceful setting, but it wasn't all it was cracked up to be for the price.

The location and views were unbelievable. We loved keeping an eye out for seals and the occasional whale.
