The crackling fireplace and the smell of the wood made the house feel so inviting. We had lamb chops and filet mignon, plus chive gnocchi to start. Both meats were cooked just right, including my medium steak. Service was warm and knowledgeable, and the red wine we chose was really good, though they said it was a limited supply and might not always be available. We also ordered dessert with dinner since it needed extra time to prepare. I can't remember its name, but the meal was outstanding. We'll be back.

We didn't stay at the MacCallum House Inn, but had a fantastic dinner there in mid-May 2026. The boneless fried chicken thighs were great, and the table service was exceptional. If we come back to Mendocino, we'd happily return for another meal.

Breakfast the next morning was just as lovely as dinner, and helped make our stay feel cozy and welcoming. The oysters were incredibly fresh, the fish cooked perfectly, and the steak was tender and full of flavor. Dessert was memorable too, and everything was presented beautifully. Staying onsite made the trip feel special. The historic home has loads of charm and character, with a peaceful coastal feel. The setting and attention to detail made it feel like a relaxing retreat, more than just an inn or restaurant. We'd absolutely return. MacCallum House Inn

The room was really comfortable, and the view was gorgeous. We were impressed with our stay and would gladly come back. The beach is nearby, with plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance. The staff were kind and knew their stuff, and the customer service and food were excellent. Those cornmeal pancakes were fantastic.

Room 7 was cozy and just as described when I booked, with a separate bath facility and no surprises. I was traveling alone and they kindly let me stay for one weeknight, even though busy season usually has a two-night minimum. The price felt good for the location, especially since there seemed to be a wedding that weekend. I chose the place so I could explore town on foot, and the location was fantastic. Staff were polite, courteous, and very accommodating. Wi-Fi was a bit temperamental, but that wasn't why I was there. Breakfast was included, though I had to leave early and missed the restaurant.
